From a small railway company to a part of an European network.

Since 2007 DB Cargo Switzerland ist a part of the DB Cargo network, but the foundation of the company was more in the past. Despite the relatively short history, DB Cargo Switzerland has moved much.

2005

Establishing the Brunner Railway Services Ltd. (BRS) by Martin Brunner. BRS produces border crossing trains to and from Switzerland and expands on international collaborations.

2007

Acquisition of BRS by Railion Germany. Name changed from BRS to Railion Switzerland Ltd., establishment of a single wagonload network in Switzerland.

2010

Xrail alliance established, international Wagonload traffic in Switzerland has been overtaken by SBB Cargo.

2012

Start with transit traffic Basel – Chiasso – Basel via Gotthard.

2015

DB Cargo Switzerland transported block trains in Cross-border traffic from and to Germany. The traffic will be continuously expanded both, in transit through Switzerland as well as import and export to and from Switzerland.

DB Cargo Switzerland strenghtens its activity in the heart of Europe the European network of DB Cargo.
